Structure follows strategy
USEF’s new approach sees the Foundation acting as an advisor, rather than a participant, in implementation projects. The organisation now consists of a small core team, focused on safeguarding the integrity of the core framework and coordinating new content development. Future framework development is foreseen as a collaborative effort of smart energy professionals across Europe, operating in project teams like our workstreams. A new structure that we hope to finalise shortly.
USEF’s Founding Partners will divide their focus, as appropriate, between content development and implementation. Essent will specifically be focusing on practical application of the framework and commercial deployment of the supplier/balance responsible party/aggregator role within flexibility markets. They will continue to work closely with USEF, but will not be involved in further development of the framework, which will take place under guardianship of the remaining partners.
